DATA GUIDE
Good inputs.
Useful decisions.
Start with a single location, a shared reporting period ending on your stock snapshot date, and product-level exports. Raw Shopify exports need mapping into this template. The tool does not guess column meanings.

- sku / product
- A unique SKU and readable product name. Combine duplicate rows for the same location. Never combine independent stock locations.
- available
- Sellable units after commitments. Exclude damaged, reserved and incoming units. Negative availability requires manual reconciliation before import.
- units_sold / period_days
- Fulfilled units during the observation period and its number of calendar days (1–365). Adjust returns consistently; do not include cancelled orders.
- in_stock_days
- Days the SKU was available to sell in that same period. Do not assume full availability if it stocked out. Use 0 for no available history; the tool will require manual review.
- lead_days / buffer_days / review_days
- Calendar days from ordering to sellable arrival, an explicit buffer, and the interval until your next review. Monthly customers receive two snapshots: a 14-day review interval is a starting assumption to confirm.
- incoming / incoming_days
- Unreceived, confirmed units and days to arrival. For multiple arrivals, use only the earliest batch here and review the remaining purchase orders manually. If no inbound, enter 0 for both.
- unit_cost / pack_size / moq
- Cost in a single currency, units per case and minimum order quantity. Use pack size 1 and MOQ 0 when no constraints apply. Shipping, duties and taxes are excluded.
How the numbers work
Daily sales = units sold ÷ in-stock days. Days cover = available units ÷ daily sales. Target stock = daily sales × (lead + buffer + review days), rounded up. Eligible inbound arrives within lead + review days. Candidate order = target less available and eligible inbound, rounded up for MOQ and pack size.
No reorder quantity is issued for zero sales or fewer than 14 in-stock days. This arithmetic assumes recent sales are representative. It cannot infer seasonal peaks, lost demand, marketing effects or supplier reliability.
Before the paid review
- Export SKU-level stock and sales without customer or order-level data.
- Confirm lead times, inbound dates and pack sizes with suppliers.
- Reconcile export totals and snapshot dates. Flag promotions, launches and unusual stockouts.
- Run the free check. Save the CSV and resolve errors.
- After scope confirmation, use the agreed private transfer method. We do not need a store password.
Replacing a Stocky workflow?
Shopify states that Stocky stopped operating on August 31, 2026 and that historical records do not automatically migrate. Check Shopify’s current transition guide. ShelfSignal does not migrate historical purchase orders or replace Shopify’s inventory system.
